The Chuckle Brothers
Barry and brother Paul had been on the comedy circuit for many years and won “Opportunity Knocks” in 1967.
Their main breakthrough into mainstream childrens TV came in 1985 with the Chuckle Hounds programme.
The breakthrough with Chuckle Hounds led to the creation of the iconic show Chucklevision which would go onto run for 22 years.
I took the kids to see the Chuckle Brothers at the Liverpool Empire many years later. They were still putting on a great show and pulling in the crowds.
